比赛英语演讲稿范文篇1

hello, everyone! i am chai yun from class 11, grade 7. today i am going to tell you a story called “two heads are better than one”. i am sure you can learn something from it. one day, an elephant met a monkey. “look, how big and strong i am!” the elephant said. “i can break a tree, can you break a tree?” “look, how quickly i can run and climb!”said the monkey.“can you climb a tree?”

the elephant was very proud because he was so strong, and the monkey was also proud because he was so quick. but which is better, to be strong or to be quick? they didn’t know.

“the rabbit will tell us. let’s go to her .”said the monkey. and they went to the rabbit and said.“tell us what you think about it. which is better, to be strong or to be quick?” the rabbit said to them, “do what i tell you, and then you will see which is better. do you see that big apple tree across the river? go and pick some apples for me.”so the elephant and the monkey went to the river. the river was so deep and the monkey was afraid to swim.

“i can carry you ,” said the elephant. “i’m big and strong so i’m not afraid to swim.” the monkey sat down the elephant’s back, and they swam to the bank. elephant tried to pick apples from it, but the apples were too high, so he can’t reach them.

“i can climb up the tree.”said the monkey. he climbed up the tree and threw some apples to the ground. the elephant picked them up. then they gave some apples to the rabbit. “now tell us.”they said.“which is better, to be strong or to be quick?”

“how can i tell you which is better?”answered the rabbit.“you, elephant, you, monkey, you couldn’t get the apples without anyone. everybody has his own good points. but two heads are better than one.”

the story is over. do you like it? that’s all. thank you.

the dream came true

i wanna welcome everybody here in this cheer team. thank you for coming here this morning to stand on my side cheering me on. it’s my dream to have the opportunity to challenge all the foreign athletes to the championship at this great occasion: 2008 olympic games. now, the dream came true. as an athlete of china, i’m here to win the gold medal of orienteering for our motherland.

i’m so proud of being one of the best players in the world. but could you believe i had been a lazy girl when i was in junior high. i’m not kidding! at that time, running was my last favorite. i really don’t know how to describe the first time i was on the track. it was horrible. when i started to run, i was simply out of breath. and while i touched the finishing line, i really didn’t know if i was still alive. it’s so funny, huh? but it’s true, i did. well, something happened and changed the situation. we won the right of holding the olympic games in 2008. after that, sports became a kind of game in campus. and there are many sports clubs in school. one day someone asked me:“are you gonna try one of those?”first i felt so wired.

“try to get into sports clubs? are you kidding?” i said. and she goes: “why not?? it’s not hard at all, and so fascinating!” so i did tried one and i was so lucky to become one of those who did orienteering. that is a fantastic sport! you need to run and find where to go just by using a map and a compass. it’s wasn’t popular in china at first. but when we heard it might become a new event in 2008, we did practiced hard, and aimed to win the first champion of orienteering in the world. when we practiced, there were a lot of troubles. you know, sometimes you need to go with your feet, but sometimes you need to go with your heart. in some situations, we faced the difficulties and problems. and we need to solve that through teamwork and strong willpower. so we can run faster, go higher and be stronger. that is what we say—olympic spirit.

now the dream came true. i’m standing here with all my body and my heart put in sports. so do the people from all over the world to here at the olympic games. it’s the olympic games that make us together. we are here for a big day of sport; we are here for a dream of sports. we are here for a spirit of sport that encourages us to face the difficulties of today and tomorrow.

i have a dream

i am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the emancipation proclamation. this momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

but one hundred years later, the negro still is not free. one hundred years later, the life of the negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. one hundred years later, the negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. one hundred years later, the negro is still languished in the corners of american society and finds himself an exile in his own land. and so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

in a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. when the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the "unalienable rights" of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." it is obvious today that america has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. instead of honoring this sacred obligation, america has given the negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds."

but we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. we refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. and so, we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

we have also come to this hallowed spot to remind america of the fierce urgency of now. this is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. now is the time to make justice a reality for all of god's children.

it would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. this sweltering summer of the negro's legitimate discontent will not pauntil there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. and those who hope that the negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to busineas usual. and there will be neither rest nor tranquility in america until the negro is granted his citizenship rights. the whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.

but there is something that i must say to my people, who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice: in the proceof gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterneand hatred. we must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. we must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.

the marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. and they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.

we cannot walk alone.

and as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead.

we cannot turn back.

there are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, "when will you be satisfied?" we can never be satisfied as long as the negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. we can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. we cannot be satisfied as long as a negro in mississippi cannot vote and a negro in new york believes he has nothing for which to vote. no, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until "justice rolls down like waters, and righteousnelike a mighty stream.

比赛英语演讲稿范文篇5

boys and girls , good morning! i’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “life”. i hope you will like it.

man’s life is a process of growing up, actually i’m standing here is a growth. if a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then i grow up along with these choices. once i hope i can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know i come here, now i wonder what the future holds for (= what will happen to) me.when i come to this school, i told to myself: this my near future, all starts here. following i will learn to become a man, an integrated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job.

once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft.” i will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study, during these process i will combine learning with doing. if i can achieve this “future”, i think that i really grow up. and i deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future.

how to say future? maybe it’s a nice wish. lets make up our minds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life.

比赛英语演讲稿范文篇6

good morning, judges, teachers and follow students. today i would like to share with you my great wish. but first, please allow me to take you back in time to the year 1955, the setting, montgomery?ntg?m?ri , alabamhe united states of america. it started out as an ordinary december afternoon. 42 year-old african american rosa parks boardeb?:did] a bus and sat down in the front row. she thought over, the days and friends, her child at home, and how she enjoyed her simple life. she was content, but when she thought about the prejudice and discrimination that she had to face everyday, she felt a mends pain. how she wished to live in the world of true harmony “ehen, ehen(咳嗽声)”, rosa was startle to see a white man standing beside her. he was starring at her coldly, but she managed to smile and ask politely“may i help you sir?” “get out of the seat!” the man snarledback. “excuse me?” rosa was shocked.

what right did the man have to speak to her in such a cruel tone? just because her skin was dark colored and his was fair. and as equals, he certainly didnt have any right to order her out of the seat, or did he? well, surprisingly, in 1955, lots like rosa parks did not have as many rights as whites. due to racial discrimination, rosa’s refusal to give up her seat to a white man, led to a call to the police, and she was arrested jailed and

convictea violatinsegregatiolaws. but rosa did not surrender to prejudice, instead she chose to fight discrimination and work alongside thousands of others for her wish to rid the world of racism

and now, half a centurlater, we are still fighting for the same wish. traces of discrimination have gradually disappeared, but prejudice lives on. i too, share the wish of rosa parks, but i too, wish that prejudice comes to an end. and my friends, prejudice will come to an end if we all work together as a whole.

let us not judge others by their skin color or appearance:[?pir?ns], but rather by their content of their characte let us learn to enjoy different cultures and then we’ll enjoy a world of diversity. i wish to look around on a lonely day, and see a blending of colors. harmony, traveling among people of all skin colors.

比赛英语演讲稿范文篇7

dear classmates,

every one of us, rich or poor, should at least have one or two good friends. my friends will listen to me when i want to speak, will wipe my eyes when i cry, will take care of me when i am sick, and my friends will go together with me side by side through this journey of life.

as students, we could share more time with our friends. the friendship in our young hearts is pure, fresh and simple. i often feel very lucky to have a lot of good friends. especially when i had justin as one of my best friends. justin was my english teacher from the usa. i met him in 1996 when i was a student who could only speak very little english. justin was a vivid young man with a bright smile on his face, and he always had his special way to make the class active and attractive. he taught us english by telling stories, playing games, singing songs, and even dancing. i could still remember very clearly that one afternoon when we fin-ished our class, we went to some other classes to sing songs for them, just like what people do in the states on christmas eve. it was so interesting and unforgettable. justin was an excellent teacher, because he taught us not only how to study english well, but also the way to find out the beauty of the world and the way to be angels to others' lives. i know there was friendship and pure love in our hearts. facing this valuable emotion neither nationality nor age was important, the real importance lay in faith, under-standing, and care. justin is the best friend i have ever had, and i know i will cherish those days of staying together with him as the best part of my memory.

friendship is a kind of treasure in our lives. it is actually like a bottle of wine, the longer it is kept, the sweeter it will be. it is also like a cup of tea. when we are thirsty, it will be our best choice, but when we have enough time to enjoy ourselves, it is also the most fragrant drink.

however, in this fast-developing modern society, the reality is not that. more and more people forget to enjoy the beauty of life and -the beauty of friendship. they work hard in order to gain a higher position, in the society and to earn more money for their work. of course, we don't deny that it is important to find a bet-ter place in our lives, but we wish more and more people could pay a little more attention to themselves and their friends. all of us have to spare some time for personal lives. we have to find the chance to express our emotion and love. when staying with our friends, we can release ourselves completely. we can do whatever we want, we can laugh together, talk together, and even cry to-gether. i should say that being together with our best friends is the most wonderful moment of our lives.

as we know, we would feel lonely if we didn't even have a friend. but it doesn't mean we could depend on our friends all the time. there is a famous motto saying that “a friend is like a quilt with cotton wadding, but the real thing that keeps you warm is your own temperature.” it is really true. we have to work hard together with our friends, encourage each other and help each other. when we receive love and friendship, we should repay as much as we can.

finally, let's pray together now that one day, all of us could find the person we want to find, and could enjoy a real beautiful friendship in our lives. let's pray the flower of friendship be-tween our friends and us would always bloom brightly in our hearts.
