十月五日，吃完早饭，我和妻子闲着无事，便出门逛街去了。我看到，几乎所有的门店两边都插着鲜艳的五星红旗，单位的旗杆上也全部飘扬着鲜艳的五星红旗，许多单位的大门口，还悬挂着“热烈庆祝新中国成立60周年”的红色横幅，在五星红旗飘扬的平阳广场上，数百人围在一起高唱红歌，到处都是一派喜庆的景象。看着那随风飞舞的五星红旗，我不禁想起了在首都北京天安门广场看升旗的时刻。

那是00年0月日，我应北京的战友之邀，专程从山西省临汾市来到天安门广场看升旗仪式。从未在天安门广场看升旗仪式的我，心情非常激动，凌晨三点，便睡意全无，随即起床，梳洗完毕，等待出发。

等待是最漫长的。凌晨四点，终于乘车出发了。北方的秋天，早晨起来，寒意颇浓。由于我没有带厚一点的衣服，只好饱受寒凉。但是，当我在人民大会堂门口下了车，看到雄伟的天安门时，心里顿时淌起了一股暖流。五点半到了，我们排队进入了广场，安检过我们的手提包，便快步来到升旗台前的警戒线。我发现，为了那神圣而庄严的一刻，人们完全是自发地从四面八方涌来，朝着一个中心汇聚！

raising flag on national day

a grand flag-raising ceremony would be held at the square in front of the citizens’ center on the morning of oct. 1 to celebrate china’s national day, a government source said.

the national anthem will be played as the five-star red national flag is raised at 7:30 a.m., marking the 55th anniversary of the founding of the people’s republic of china.

“it will be the largest flag-raising ceremony in the history of shenzhen, and it will be the first time citizens will be allowed to closely witness the

scene,” a government official said.

“about 1,000 people from different walks of life in shenzhen have been organized to attend the ceremony,” he said.

the ceremony will be performed by a national flag guard under the local armed police contingent.
